Today Mickey Ekman from NSW celebrates her 300th game after a 19yr football career.
Mickey kicked off with the start of the Sydney Women’s Australia Football League (SWAFL) in 2000 and since then has built an incredible footy record.
She is an ambassador for the sport, both on and off the field, and brings a delightful, playful touch to the game.
Mickey was instrumental in getting the Western Wolves club off the ground and is the only remaining player from the start of the league who has played every season within the Sydney women’s league.
Mickey has a colourful footy career playing Nationals & Representative carnivals in 2002, 2007, 2011, 2013 & 2014 as well as playing in 9 grand finals, winning 3 of these.
Mickey has also participated in the last 3 Masters Carnivals and we look forward to her being around for many years to come.
